Economists at the Arcadis consulting company compared construction costs in 100 cities around the world and identified the most expensive megacities.
The comparison was made for 20 buildings of various types, and the calculations were indexed in US dollars relative to Amsterdam, which was used as a reference.
London turned out to be the leader of the rating. Geneva is in second place, and Zurich is in third.
Analysts have recognized Buenos Aires in Argentina, Lagos in Nigeria and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia as the most affordable cities in the world for construction.
