New law on cultural “golden visa” in Portugal

				05.04.2024
The Portuguese Ministry of Culture has prepared and submitted to Parliament for approval a bill on the creation of a Fund for the acquisition of works of art for national museums and palaces. The law was developed in order to create more favorable conditions for private financing in the field of culture.

It is proposed to create a new residence permit for investments in culture – the so-called "golden visas" through cash donations in the amount of 500 thousand euros.
Another way to obtain a residence permit is to transfer capital in the amount of €250,000 or more, which can be invested in art productions, exhibitions, restoration or maintenance of the national cultural heritage.
