Germany implements minimum global tax

				02.08.2023
The German Federal Ministry of Finance has published a bill that will introduce the EU directive on minimum taxation into domestic legislation.
The EU member states reached an agreement on December 12, 2022 on the introduction of a minimum tax for multinational groups (and large local groups) in accordance with the OECD Model rules for the second component or the GloBE rules.

The purpose of the rules is to ensure the establishment of a minimum effective tax rate of at least 15% on income generated by multinational corporations in each jurisdiction in which they operate.

The measures proposed in the Law on the Implementation of the German Minimum Taxation Directive mainly include amendments to various domestic tax laws that need to be made as part of the implementation of the directive.
