UAE improves tax supervision procedure

03.08.2023 The Ministry of Finance of the UAE announced the adoption of Resolution No. 74 of 2023 "On the Executive Regulations of Federal Decree-Law No. 28 of 2022 "On Tax Procedures"". This Resolution cancels and replaces the current Regulation on Tax Procedures and brings definitions, procedures and processes in accordance with the Law on New Tax Procedures, which entered into force on March 1, 2023.

The new Resolution establishes the accounting procedure. In addition, it includes changes concerning the conditions and control of registration as a tax agent, procedures for exclusion from the list of tax agents, including requirements for oral and written communication in Arabic and English, as well as the rights and obligations of a tax agent.
Other important innovations include procedures for crimes related to tax evasion and the conditions for conducting such inspections.
