EurAsEC has ceased to exist

The President has signed the Federal law “On Ratification of the Agreement on Termination of Activities of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC)”.



The Federal law was adopted by the State Duma on 23 January 2015 and approved by the Federal Assembly on 28 January 2015.

This Federal law ratifies the Agreement on Termination of activities of the EurAsEC, which was signed in Minsk on 10 October 2014. The Agreement makes provision on the termination of the activity of EAEC and its bodies on the 1 January 2015.

As the website of the President notes, the termination of EAEC was determined by the achievement of the aims and objectives set forth at its creation, as well as by the signing of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union in Astana on the 29 May 2014.
