Description

UBS was formed in 1998 as a result of the merger of two major Swiss banks - Union Bank of Switzerland (founded in 1862) and Swiss Bank Corporation (founded in 1854). UBS was one of the first foreign banks to begin operations in the Russian market. In 1996, a representative office was officially opened in Moscow (Representative Office of Swiss Bank Corporation, Switzerland.)
