Italy is striving to simplify the procedure and create more favorable conditions for attracting foreign specialists.
Italian employers who need to hire highly qualified workers in accordance with the EU Blue Card can now submit requests online through the portal of the Ministry of the Interior.
After submitting a request, highly qualified workers from non-EU countries can apply for these positions, and if they meet the requirements, they are issued an EU Blue Card that allows them to live and work in Italy.
Highly qualified foreign workers who are not EU citizens and who wish to receive an EU Blue Card in Italy must prove that they have received higher education, have at least five years of work experience in their field or have a higher professional qualification with at least three years of work experience.
In addition, the salary of EU Blue Card holders must be at least 1.5 times higher than the national average, and, among other things, they must purchase medical insurance for travel.
The EU Blue Card provides many advantages to its owner. A highly qualified foreign worker who has received an EU Blue Card in Italy has the right to move freely throughout the European Union.
