Turkey cancels fake "golden" passport

06.10.2025 Turkish law enforcement agencies have eliminated an organized criminal group engaged in the fictitious sale of real estate to foreign citizens in order to obtain Turkish citizenship. 106 suspects were detained. Among other things, the suspects were involved in the illegal importation of migrants, laundering of criminally acquired assets, fraud and forgery of official documents.

451 foreigners were involved in the fictitious sale of real estate. The foreign citizens involved will be stripped of their Turkish citizenship. The procedures for revoking citizenship have already begun.
