06.02.2025 The experts of the Times Higher Education magazine have compiled a ranking of the most prestigious universities in the world based on a survey of almost 100,000 experts and an analysis of more than 18 million scientific articles.

The experts used 18 criteria to evaluate universities, combining them into 5 areas:
- Teaching quality
- research environment
- quality of research
- International orientation
- Contribution to industry

TOP 10 best universities in the world:
1. University of Oxford (UK)
2. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA)
3. Harvard University (USA)
4. Princeton University (USA)
5. University of Cambridge (UK)
6. Stanford University (USA)
7. California Institute of Technology (USA)
8. University of California at Berkeley (USA)
9. Imperial College London (UK)
10. Yale University (USA) 

The University of Oxford holds the 1st place for the 9th year in a row due to significant improvements in the field of interaction with industry and teaching.
Chinese universities performed better and moved closer to the top ten, further strengthening their global scientific influence.

3 new countries joined the TOP 200: Brazil, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which indicates the rise of emerging markets in higher education.
