Regulation of cryptocurrency in the Russian Federation

The chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Aksakov declared that the Law on Digital Financial Assets could be adopted before October 1 of the current year. Up to this moment, it is necessary to develop a position on the free circulation of cryptocurrencies.

It is also important that lawmakers should decide with the need to prohibit the issue and circulation of assets issued on the open blockchain so that citizens can operate with cryptocurrencies.

Recall that at present, only 2 bills out 20 have adopted despite of that Minister Cabinet identified them as priority. This is the Digital Rights Act adopted by the State Duma on March 12 and crowdfunding adopted by the State Duma on July 24.
