On October 15th, 2018, the head of the Securities and futures Commission in Hong Kong announced that the Commission does not intend to impose a ban on the activities of cryptocurrency trading platforms. The regulated ban will not lead to a valid termination of the platforms in Hong Kong, as transactions can easily be carried out through foreign markets.
Currently, there are already centralized crypto-exchanges in Hong Kong, which are managed by organizations that provide users with access to the platform for a fixed fee. However, such activity still remain unresolved.
The securities and futures Commission is preparing to introduce rules for regulating the cryptocurrency business in the country in the nearest time.
