On May 5th, 2019 on the official website of the English registry Companies House there was published a new package of possible reforms, which provides:
• Verification of identity of controlling persons of the company (Director);
• Identification of the shareholder (if necessary);
• Introduction of standardized forms for annual reporting to ensure effective automatic verification.
If any of the above-mentioned persons is not able to prove your identity, the Registry will not be updated to provide information about the company.
If the Register of companies is provided with false information about the company, the company will be deleted from the register.
Relevant information about the Directors and shareholders of the company should be provided in time to avoid deleting the company from the register.
The purpose of these reforms is the transparency of the information provided and the strengthening of protection against fraud.
The package of these reforms is currently under discussion (consultations). Any citizen can write their proposal for changes to be considered by consultants in the UK Register of companies.
The consultation will be closed on 5th August, 2019.
