China and Georgia sign a free trade agreement

				23.05.2017
On the 13th day of May, 2017 China and Georgia signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
It is important to note that this is the first agreement which was signed between China and one of the European countries. China is the 3rd largest partner and the biggest investor in Georgia.
This agreement is intended to overcome the most part of rates on trade between these countries. Georgia will cancel tariffs on 96.5 % of rate positions during 5 years; China will cancel rates on 93.9 % of rate positions on Georgia’s goods.
The Agreement will enter into force in 2018 where both countries ratify it.
