British Columbia directs all efforts to alleviate the tax burden of the media industry in Canada

The budget of British Columbia, one of the states of Canada, for 2015 contains very attractive provisions about tax credits for small businesses and companies operating in the media and resource extraction spheres.

Minister of Finance of British Columbia presented the state budget on the February 17th.

Especial attention is paid to the field of Digital Animation or Visual Effects (DAVE). These provisions will be applicable to works, started after the 1 March 2015.

The tax credit for companies in the interactive digital media projects sphere will be extended until 2018. It was first introduced in 2010 and let companies to return 17,5% of payroll tax.
