The Republic of Cyprus introduces procedure of obtaining electronic visa for the Ukraine citizens

				08.10.2012
From 10th September 2012 the Republic of Cyprus introduced the procedure of

obtaining electronic visa for the Ukraine citizens.

Such visa entitles a person to the single entry on the territory of Cyprus during the
term of 90 days during 6 months. It should be noticed that visa is valid only in 2
international airports of Cyprus – Larnaca and Paphos – under condition of flight
from the airport of Ukraine.

The procedure of obtaining electronic visa is free and doesn’t require submitting of
additional documents to the embassy of Cyprus. However, presenting of passport
is obligatory. In case of the positive decision relating to the visa application the
embassy sends confirmation on allowing of entry on the territory of Cyprus in the
form of the electronic letter. It should be printed and submitted with the passport
during crossing the state border of the Republic of Cyprus.

Expert’s opinion

Cyprus is the first country of the European Union which introduced a possibility of
travelling with electronic visa to the Ukraine citizens that indicates development of
cooperation and political dialogue between countries.

It should be highlighted that the Ukraine citizens also have a possibility to travel
with electronic visa to Australia and Mexico. Furthermore, from 15th September
2012 due to entering into force of the agreement with Poland on cancellation of
payment for issuance of national visas the Ukraine citizens are able to obtain the
free Polish visas. Moreover, such agreements are also concluded with Latvia,
Slovakia and Lithuania.
