Recently Swiss deputies have discussed the issue of tax "attractiveness" of the Confederation.

				26.09.2011
It’s known that the specialty of Confederation tax system is the existence of relatively independent cantonal regimes. To experts opinion, such a tax competition is an advantage for the state, and people completely support the existence of different regimes within one country. Moreover, the deputies call the Swiss tax system as practically ideal one. And even the planned possible VAT rates increase won’t do any harm to the existing system and won’t negatively reflect on investment flowing to the state, as Confederation officials declare.
Expert’s opinion

“In spite of not low tax rates for non-residents – individuals, not cheap registration of companies, a potential difficulty in obtaining a residence permit the state remains attractive for investors all over the world. Confederation is included in the list of respectable low tax jurisdictions. The Swiss banks have always been famous for their reliability and safety. Maybe we can not speak about the ideal tax system of the state but it provides definite advantages for investors”.
