Malta has launched a new immigration program

				04.02.2024
In January 2024, Malta launched the Professionals Initiative (SEI), which provides an alternative immigration route for highly qualified third-country nationals. The Unified Work Permit under the Specialist Employee Initiative (SEI) program provides accelerated residence permits for highly qualified workers from third countries who cannot apply for the Key Employee Initiative program (which involves a limited list of specialties), but have the appropriate academic, professional or technical skills in accordance with their job offer in Malta.

Only third-country nationals who have signed a contract with a company registered in Malta can apply.

At the same time, applicants for participation in the Specialist Employee Initiative program must receive an annual salary of at least 25,000 euros per year, as well as have documented qualifications related to the position held in Malta. Only persons with at least three years of work experience and letters of recommendation from previous jobs can participate in the program.
