The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a law on the creation of international companies

On June 26^th, 2018, the State Duma of the Russian Federation approved in third reading the Federal Law on International Companies.

In accordance with the law adopted, an international company may become a foreign legal entity, which is a commercial corporate organization and has decided to amend its personal law.

A foreign legal entity will be assigned the status of an international company in the following cases:

• Сarrying out entrepreneurial activity on the territory of several states, including on the territory of the Russian Federation through its directly or indirectly controlled bodies;

• Conclusion of an agreement on the implementation of activities as a participant of the special administrative region (in the territory of Kaliningrad region and Primorsky area);

• Making investments in the territory of the Russian Federation;

• Registration in a state that is a member or observer of the FATF and / or a member of the Committee of Experts of the Council of Europe on the assessment of measures to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism (Manivel).

The minimum amount of investments is fifty million rubles. And the minimum period during which investments should be made is six months since the date of state registration of an international company.
