The Paris Сourt found the Swiss Bank UBS guilty of tax fraud.
On February 21st , 2019, the court ordered the Swiss Bank to pay a fine of € 4.5 billion for the helping its clients to evade taxation in France.
However, UBS strongly disagrees with the court's decision and has already filed an appeal. UBS claims that the conviction was based on "unsubstantiated statements of former employees." The Bank stated that it had fulfilled all its obligations under Swiss and French law, as well as all European Directives.
