The second meeting of the joint committee, where the delegations of EFTA countries and Georgia were present, took place in Tbilisi. The representatives of Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Norway and Georgia discussed the possibility of creation of a free trade zone between the states.
Countries’ spokesmen suppose that in the nearest future there is a possibility of signing a joint trade agreement, which will regulate the questions of trade (of goods and services), investments, intellectual property, competition and sustainable development. It is also assumed, that this agreement will become a legal framework for settlement of disputes and conducting of negotiations on the questions of trade.
The first stage of negotiations on the agreement itself is appointed on the summer 2015. The coordination and signing are not expected to take more than a year.
