To achieve budgetary savings Belgian government developed a plan how to save money. One of the main steps in this plan is the levy of the "fairness tax" or "minimum tax" for large corporations. During 2013, government expects to save 750 million euros.226 millions of those 750 millions euros Belgian government has included in the reserve, to allow the country to get out of the deficit, to restore confidence and maintain the stability of the financial markets.
We should mention, that the government plan is to levy "fairness tax" only on large corporations in Belgium, which doesn`t pay taxes, but distributes dividends. According to the Belgian Prime Minister Di Rupo, such measures should ensure tax fairness and to ensure consistent contribution to the economy of all Belgium enterprises. The Prime Minister also said that measures that the measures are not intended to plunge Belgium into austerity, but are instead designed to protect individuals and small- and medium-sized companies in Belgium.
