The officials of India and Switzerland have recently signed a "memorandum of understanding." This document deals with cooperation between the two states in the field of finance. Both countries hope to strengthen economic and political connections and partnership relations.
In signing the "Memorandum of Understanding" India and Switzerland addressed the issues of joint activities in international organizations and forums, discussed the conditions of cooperation in the financial markets. Switzerland is a major financial center which recently has led active contractual policies with other countries on banking and other sectors of the economy.
“Today in the situation of the global crisis different countries cooperation is essential. This especially concerns financial and tax issues. As it’s known countries all over the world now sign agreements on avoidance of double taxation and the exchange of information. Switzerland is actively pursuing this line of its contractual policy. "Memorandum of understanding" with India also applies to important financial arrangements which should favorably affect the process of establishing bilateral relations”.
