Will Kazakhstan move on?

26.02.2024 Since 2024, new rules for foreigners to obtain IIN and a number of other important documents, such as a residence permit, will begin to apply in Kazakhstan.

On the basis of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 50-VIII dated December 23, 2023, from February 24, 2024, registration of IIN by non-residents of Kazakhstan is possible only with personal application for identification.

Also, from January 1, 2024, foreigners will have to undergo fingerprint registration, the media center of the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports. According to the law, the procedure has become mandatory for persons over the age of 16 when applying for such documents as, for example, a permanent or temporary residence permit, as well as a residence permit in Kazakhstan.
