TOP 10 countries in the world with the best tax systems

11.09.2025 Visual Capitalist has published a study of the advantages of tax laws in the world, focusing on the International Tax Competitiveness Index.

The study was based on the following parameters:

- taxes for individuals and companies,
- property taxes,
- costs,
- cross-border payments.

The Baltic states occupy leading positions. At the same time, Estonia has been ranked first in terms of the convenience of the tax system for citizens for the 11th year in a row.
TOP 10 countries in the world with the best tax systems for citizens:

1. Estonia
2. Latvia
3. New Zealand
4. Switzerland
5. Lithuania
6. Luxembourg
7. Hungary
8. Czech Republic
9. Slovakia
10. Israel

Germany took 16th place in the ranking, the USA – 18th, and France and Italy – 36th and 37th.
The United States is traditionally in the middle of the list because of the system that taxes foreign income and profits. France and Italy are at the bottom of the table due to high consumer and payroll taxes.
