UAE changes financial reporting requirements

				29.04.2025
						The UAE Ministry of Finance has published Decision No. 84 of 2025, which updates the Ministerial Decision No. 82 of 2023 regarding the preparation and maintenance of audited financial statements.

According to the proposed changes, preparation in the field of financial statements should be carried out by:
- a taxable person who is not a tax group, as well as receiving income exceeding 50 million AED;
- a person who meets the requirements of the free zone

At the same time, the tax group must prepare and maintain audited financial statements for special purposes, and a qualified person in the free zone engaged in the distribution of goods or materials to or from the designated zone must comply with any additional procedures prescribed by the authority.
The decision applies to tax periods beginning on January 1, 2025.
