After the participation of the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in the board meeting of the Russian Finance Ministry on 14 April 2015 with the proposition of further development of questions related to the practical application of norms on the taxation of incomes from the currency trade operations mass media started to spam with various unfounded information. One of the most remarkable ones was the intention of the Finance Ministry to impose a tax on any currency exchange operation involving more than 250 000 rubles.
However, the Minister of Finances, Anton Siluanov, has refuted all of the factitious versions by his statement, where he explained, that the discussion has concerned the incomes of companies – professional participants of currency-exchange markets and not the operations of individuals.
