The negotiations between Switzerland and Liechtenstein on the question of the signing of a new double taxation agreement (DTA) are over. It is supposed to be signed and ratified during the summer, and enter in its full force on the 1 January 2017.
The new agreement on the avoidance of double taxation includes the latest OECD’s recommendations. It will replace the current agreement, which was arranged on 22 June 1995.
It is already known, that the new agreement will cancel the double taxation of pensions, which are imposed according to the place of residence of the person. This agreement thus will let to avoid the double taxation of Swiss pensions, which are received by the Liechtenstein residents.
The new agreement concerns as well the taxation of dividends, interest and royalty payments.
