The EU has set strict conditions for Ukraine

02.12.2011 On the 1st of December 2011 the European Union adopted a resolution on the issues of cooperation possibility with Ukraine and its adoption to the EU. Professional opinions on the content of this document differ. Some believe that this is a huge step forward, because the EU has never suggested the possibility for Ukraine to become its member. Other specialists think that it is not real to meet the requirements set by the EU, and therefore subsequent entrance into the EU.
Among the main theses, which were the breeding ground for serious disputes among the members of the public, let’s name the following: the release of "Batkivschyna” leader Yulia Tymoshenko from arrest, her access to the parliamentary elections of 2012 as well as ensuring the realization of her passive electoral rights and passive electoral rights of other opposition politicians in this election campaign. As another important provision of the resolution may be named the EU's readiness for initialing of the Association Agreement with Ukraine in December 2011, if the country holds reforms to strengthen democratic institutions.
The special subject affected by the EU resolution, is the ability to provide effective assistance to Ukraine in negotiations on gas issues with Russia, but how it will be implemented, it is not clear enough.

“Russia - Tajikistan. EU - Ukraine. Here and there - the pressure on the court. Both cases require to release two people (in Ukraine only focus on Tymoshenko and Lutsenko as well as in Tajikistan Estonian pilot). Of course, the price of issue is different: there are two aircraft with pilots and guest workers in Russia - here two ex-minister and the impact on Ukraine. Tajikistan caved. Will Ukraine make concessions? Will everything change? Will "Donetsk" take a pause or take maximum from the situation? - Intrigue. But it is clear that for Ukrainian diplomacy wide horizons for maneuvering between Russia and the EU have been opened. There is a chance to see a very interesting political game! Increased activity of law enforcement and regulatory agencies in the current redistribution of spheres of influence in the markets brings more minuses than pluses. In these circumstances, foreign investors do not bring money to Ukraine and withdraw existing investment. The resolution of the EU, adopted on 1 December 2011, had no effect on the situation in Ukraine, but strongly increased the price of "assets" that are sitting in jail waiting for the trade results”.
