The UK introduces electronic permits for holders of "golden passports"

				24.09.2024
The UK government has announced the introduction of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) - electronic travel permits to control border crossings, enhance national security and counter illegal immigration.

The transition to ETA will begin on January 8, 2025 for 4 Caribbean countries implementing citizenship-by-investment programs: Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis and Saint Lucia.
What does this actually mean for Caribbean passport holders?

It is important for holders of Caribbean investment citizenship to pay attention to the fact that mandatory electronic registration will be introduced for them in the near future before entering the UK and the need to obtain prior approval for visa-free entry.

In the near future, the same trend awaits holders of EU citizenship.
In addition, the same pre-verification system is being introduced by the EU countries, launching a similar ETIAS system from day to day.
