The European Environment Agency (EEA) has compiled a rating of cities with the most favorable air quality.
The EEA compared the air quality in 375 cities, assessing the content of fine particles in the air: the smallest pieces of soot, car tires, asphalt, heavy metal compounds, pollen, and particles of mineral salts.
According to the European Environment Agency, air pollution is still the biggest risk to environmental health in Europe.
According to the World Health Organization, a concentration of PM2.5 less than 5 micrograms/cubic meter of air does not harm health.
Only 13 cities in Europe correspond to this indicator. Among the capitals are Reykjavik, Tallinn, Stockholm and Helsinki.
