Geneva’s ICO Guide

On October 17^th, 2018 the General Directorate of the Swiss Canton of Geneva has published an updated version of the Initial Coin Allocation Guide (The Initial Coin Offerings).

This manual is a summary of the main aspects of legal regulations and taxation of activities related to ICO.

The guide presents a classification of tokens based on their economic function compiled by the Swiss Financial Market Supervision Authority. In accordance with the classification tokens can be divided into payment tokens (payment tokens) performing the function of means of payment, useful tokens (utility tokens) aimed at providing of digital access to the service and asset tokens which are represented as debt obligations or rights of claim .

Currently the Geneva authorities offer to entrepreneurs clear procedure for the implementation of ICO projects as well as the possibility of obtaining consultations from qualified professionals.
