Jersey has signed a Double Taxation Agreement (DTA) with the Republic of Cyprus. It is the Island’s twelfth tax agreement to the international standard.
11th July 2016 Jersey’s Minister for the External Relations Philip Bailhache and the Cyprus High Commissioner signed the agreement at the Cyprus High Commission in London.
Senator Bailhache declared «the signing of DTA with Cyprus underlines Jersey’s firm commitment to the international standard of transparency and information exchange».
«Jersey’s purpose is maintenance of good neighbor relations with the European Union». That is why the Minister «was delighted to say that the agreement signing would strengthen political and business relations with the EU Member States. And the signing of the DTA with Cyprus is particularly welcome, because the states have much in common. Cyprus and Jersey are international finance centres.»
