Vacation in Turkey is doubled.

12.05.2012 On April, 2011 a bilateral inter-governmental agreement came into force on reciprocal travels of citizens ,whereby the citizens of RF and Turkey, being the owners of regular  or  business (special) passports, may go in and leave, fly through and stay at the territory of other state without any visa within 30 days since the date of entry into the country. Furthermore, the total number of days in the territory of other state shall not be more than 90 days within each period of 180 days.

According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Turkey, the Turkish part has resolved unilaterally to increase the duration of stay of Russian citizens in the territory of Turkey without a visa from 30 to 60 days.

This resolution is valid since May 4 up to December 31, 2012 (inclusively).

Expert’s opinion

“ Turkey is one of the most popular countries for Russian tourists.
Each year the state takes millions of our fellow citizens. Without doubt, such increase of the non-visa regime term is profitable for Turkish authorities, because Russia is an endless source of monetary funds received by Turkey by means of rendering tourist services to Russian citizens, especially during the summer period.

Nowadays, the tendency of simplification or cancelling of visa regime between Russia and some states is in progress. In particular, the procedure of receipt of Norwegian visas by Russian citizens will be simplified soon.

Besides, Russia fulfilled all necessary conditions for easing visa restrictions with the European Union and now our country is making final preparations for signing the agreement on non-visa regime with the EU by the year 2014.”
